Bollywood legend actor, former Union minister and former BJP MP Vinod Khanna will be honored with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for his outstanding contributions to the film. They will be honored posthumously. This is India’s highest honor in cinema.
Vinod Khanna has done a great acting role in many Bollywood films. These include films like Mys, Insaf, Parvarish, Mukaddar’s Sikandar, Kurbani, Dayavan, My Village My Desh, Chandni, The Burning Train and Amar Akbar Anthony. Vinod Khanna has done many different roles in his career. He also did negative and character roles. Even after coming to politics, he was acting in movies.
Vinod Khanna died in Mumbai on April 27 last year after the disease. At that time he was a BJP MP from Gurdaspur Lok Sabha constituency of Punjab. Vinod Khanna was formerly the Union minister from BJP quota in Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s NDA government. Then his work was highly appreciated. At the time of his death, he was 70 years old.
The 65th National Film Awards were announced on Friday afternoon. In the presence of jury members, Chief Shekhar Kapur announced the names of films and artists who received the award. After the announcement of the awards, Shekhar Kapoor said, “He is lucky that he got an opportunity to work with Vinod Khanna.
